Welcome!

Introduction

A few years ago, I did a series of Funschooling workshops at a local library to help parents look at learning in a different way. After the workshops were over, I was asked to offer the information to the public so other parents could benefit from it. As a result, I created this blog to continue offering suggests and ideas to the parents who attended the workshops.

Since then, some parents have asked me to offer the workshops again as a refresher course, some because they are new to the idea of making learning fun for kids and would like to access information at their leisure, and some because they would like to have support at the click of a button. I thought it would be a great idea to offer the Funschooling Workshops and activities here on the blog.

With some help from my kids, inexpensive household items, holidays, historical events, games, the community, an internet connection, and a little creativity, I can show you how to create an enjoyable learning experience that helps young people build life-skills in fun and interesting ways, while becoming independent life-long learners.

There are plenty of things that we are forced to do in life, developing important life skills shouldn't be one of them.

I am not claiming to be an expert in any way, I only want to share with other people what I've discovered about learning. If you have any questions while reading the posts, write to me, or leave a comment, and I'll do my best to answer you within that comment or in a blog post.

I encourage readers to leave helpful comments so that we can learn from our experiences.
